PISGAH FOREST — The founders of American Garage, between Mills River and Pisgah Forest, aim to create a destination for auto and garage enthusiasts. The business, which opened in May, sells a variety of products for the garage.

Their idea was to create a destination for “garage/shop/automotive and motorcycle enthusiasts,” according to a news release.
Before opening the business, the brothers spent 20 years in the auto accessories business, according to an e-mail from the company. Micah Ansley founded AAMP of America Inc.
Products or services: The business sells a wide variety of items for the garage, including flooring, storage and products to organize the garage.
Products include Epoxy floors, roll-out mats that cover the garage floor, storage for garages, including cabinetry from American Garage Cabinets and metal garage cabinets from Hercke.
“American Garage also has a showroom for car detailing products and accessories as well as a separate showroom for motorcycle parts, accessories and detailing products,” according to the company.
Popular items: The most popular product is Epoxy flooring for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
“There is an unlimited variety of colors and finishes we offer, and custom colors with favorite logos in the floor are very popular,” according to the company.
Staff: Six employees, including three installers, two in sales and one office manager.
Philosophy: “Our philosophy is great products focused on American-made, fair pricing and incredible service,” according to the company.
Future plans: The next phase of the business is development of American Grille.
The project, which includes a restaurant and campground, is slated for completion in 2009.
