American Garage is new and unique. 12 volt specialists need to check out www.AmericanGarage.com. When they do they will be surprised to see an old friend – none other than AAMP of America's founder, Micah Ansley. Micah's brother Gerry is also involved in the project.
Micah Ansley told The 12 Volt News “After 20 years of strong growth at AAMP of America it was time to develop a new concept. My role as chairman of AAMP of America has given me time away from the day to day operations. I'm staying tuned into the 12 volt industry through my passion for motorcycles, cars and promotions.”
For the past seven years Ansley has been commuting from the family home in North Carolina to Florida. “Time for the family and the American Garage concept dictated this was the right time.”
American Garage stocks a wide range of products that are designed to organize, enhance the appearance and increase the functionality of any garage or 12 volt installation bay. Products include flooring from Race Deck plus everything needed to put down a high gloss epoxy finish. Organizational products, storage cabinets, garage gadgets and automotive accessories are also included in the product mix.
American Garage, opened May 1st, is just in Stage 1 of their 14 acre site right near the entrance to Pisgah National Forest and the incredible Blue Ridge Parkway. Plans are being completed to build an all new “American Grille” with a southern, home style atmosphere and food. Of course the building style will complement and enhance American Garage’s stone and wood rustic architecture. And the grille with a diner type flair will coincide well with American Garage’s plans to be a bike and car enthusiasts destination.
Emphasis will be on classic car and bike shows and events not unlike the first “Bluegrass In The Pasture” the company hosted in May as a fund raiser for local fiddle player Roy Chapman. Of course they will make the property available for car club needs including shows, meets and swaps. And the all important weekly bike nights and “cruise ins” will be mandatory.
Simultaneously work continues on a biker-friendly tent campground featuring creek side camping sites only. Ansley said, “There is nothing like this in the area and our intentions are to create a family-friendly destination for car and motorcycle enthusiasts alike to enjoy locally or for those who visit our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We believe there is a need for the types of goods and services the property can offer. We want to give both residents and visitors a place to visit where people of their like interests gather. A place where clean fun and interests can be shared by all while enjoying the beautiful mountain atmosphere this area affords.”
